ECT and Appropriate Body Important Dates and Information Summer 23
In line with DfE guidance, the last date to register your ECTs for the Best Practice Network Summer 23 ECF programme intake is Friday 26th May 2023. Please note, for ECTs / Mentors commencing induction in the Autumn 2023/24 cohort, the new improved DfE online service opens week commencing 3rd July. STEP will also be replacing their current Appropriate Body Services portal with a brand new portal called ECT Manager which will go live on the same week. Therefore, please do not register any Autumn cohort starters until week commencing 3rd July, (details for how to do this will follow in a future update).
STEP Appropriate Body Services:
Friday 14th July 23 is the next ECT termly assessment deadline date – Final Assessment – Term 6 for full-time Autumn 21 starters and Formal Assessment – Term 3 for full-time Autumn 22 starters. Due to this being the final assessment and hopefully the completion of the ECF induction for those full-time ECTs who started induction in Autumn 2021, we would appreciate your punctual submission of this document which should be completed via our STEP portal at: https://priory.early-career-teacher.co.uk
Thursday 18th May 23 (3.30-4.30pm) An Appropriate Body joint webinar briefing will be held by STEP and Shropshire Local Authority to relevant schools within Shropshire district to discuss the recent DfE changes to AB services in light of Local Authorities to no longer act as ABs and transitioning ECTs to STEP. An invitation and link to the webinar will be sent to your school if this affects you in due course.
